August 2020 Meeting - Hávamál

For our August meeting we will be reading and discussing Hávamál (Old Norse: “Sayings of the High One [Odin]”) a collection of 164 stanzas of aphorisms, homely wisdom, counsels, and magic charms that are ascribed to the Norse god Odin. The work contains separate fragments not originally discovered together and constitutes a portion of the Poetic Edda. We will aim to meet via Skype on the 2nd Sunday of the month (8/9/2020) with the primary discussion / public portion of the meeting starting around 5:30 PM.
