For our April meeting we will be discussing Ragnarök/Ragnarøkkr (Old Norse for '"Fate of the Gods"/"Twilight of the Gods"), a series of events/disasters, foretelling of the deaths of many gods and nearly all of mankind.
Our primary sources and readings for this topic are:
(1) Völuspá stanza 40 to the end. (found in The Poetic Edda)
(2) Gylfaginning chapters 51 - 53. (found in The Prose Edda)
and a bit of review for those who've attended our last few meetings
(3) Vafþrúðnismál stanzas 44-53 (found in The Poetic Edda)
As usual we will aim to meet on the second Sunday of the month (4/12/2020) with the primary discussion / public portion of the meeting starting around 5:30 PM.
Due to the current "stay at home" order this meeting will be conducted via Skype. I will update this again with a Skype call invite code on the day of the meeting.
I just feel uncomfortable video chatting. I don't have a desktop with webcam anymore. It would be on my phone and I'd have to hold it the whole time. I'd rather just weigh in with written words. Of course, saying that now, makes me seem rather high-maintenance. Whatever is decided, I'll make it work. *just wish we could all be together* 😷 This sucks.
